WHERE TO STAY ON KOH TAO?

On our first days on the beautiful island we wanted to have a quiet place with a view. So we stayed at The Place Koh Tao. The Place with an absolutely AMAZING sunset view probably is one of the best places Koh Tao has to offer. Three days on the hills of Koh Tao that we definitely won´t forget. 

CHEAP BUNGALOW ON KOH TAO

If you want to stay in a cheap place directly at the beach, we can recommend Sairee Cottage Resort. It´s located at Sairee Beach, the main beach of Koh Tao. We stayed there for several days after our stay on the hills of Koh Tao. You get your own minimalistic bungalow with everything you need and it´s just a few steps to the beach. If you are interested in diving the resort also has it´s own Diving School where you can book classes. We did our first diving class with Pura Vida Diving, which is about 10 minutes away from Sairee Cottage Resort. 

THINGS TO DO ON KOH TAO?

JOHN SUWAN VIEWPOINT
This is probably the most famous and in our opinion the most beautiful viewpoint on the island. Its located at the most southern point of Koh Tao and from Sairee Beach it will take you around 15 minutes by motorbike, followed by a 15 minutes hike up to the viewpoint. Entrance fee is 100 Baht.

FREEDOM BEACH
This was one of our favorite beaches on the whole island. Its a very small one, located on the South of Koh Tao. You can reach it by motorbike in about 15 minutes from Sairee Beach. You will also find a nice little restaurant with Thai food directly at the beach.

MANGO VIEWPOINT
For us Mango Viewpoint was a very special place. When we arrived it was nearly empty and we saw one of our most spectacular sunsets ever. It´s located in the middle of the island and from Sairee Beach you will need about 15-20 minutes to drive up, followed by a 5 minutes walk. Entrance fee is 20 Baht. WHERE TO EAT ON KOH TAO?

On Koh Tao you will find lots of places with delicious and cheap Thai Food and also some nice Plant Based restaurants. Here are our favorite places where we had food several times during our stay on Koh Tao:

• PermPoon Café (Breakfast)

This little Café is located at Sairee Beach and they serve everything you need for a delicious breakfast like Pancakes, Porridge, Cappuccino and more :)

• The Blue Chair (Lunch)

This place was our overall favorite in terms of food on Koh Tao. They serve Thai Food at affordable prices. We tried a lot of different things and everything tastes fantastic. Our favorite meal was Fried Vegetable Rice and a fresh unsweetened Pineapple Juice. You can go there the whole day, they also serve breakfast. 

• Delish Plant Based Kitchen (Dinner)

If you are looking for Vegan Food on Koh Tao, this is the place you should go. The prices are higher than in other restaurants on Koh Tao, but it´s worth is. They don´t serve standard food like in most other restaurants - their menu is really special. We tried the Bowl and the Vegan Burger and both was DELICIOUS! Be sure to also check out their deserts.
